Which Version of Adobe® Acrobat® do I need?

Many people asked what "DC" stands for.

  • Digital Colorization?
  • Dirt Cheap?
  • Downtown Chicago?

Actually, "DC" references the Adobe cloud service they call "Document Cloud", the internet storage location offered by Adobe and closely tied to their products. At this point I am not recommending saving client confidential information to the Adobe Document Cloud, but that opinion may change at any time.

What you get with the Pro version that is not in the Standard version

  • For Microsoft Word users, you get a separate Adobe Acrobat Ribbon that appears as part of the Word toolbars.
  • Ability to Validate PDF files to meet the ISO Standards for PDF/A (i.e. the Archive format) standard.
  • Ability to validate PDF files to meet the Accessibility standards to make the files usable for people with disabilities.
  • Optical Character Recognition
  • Bates Numbering
  • Ability to EDIT text in a PDF file on your iPad app
  • Ability to Reorder, delete, and rotate pages in a PDF file on your iPad app
  • Ability to compare two PDF files to see the differences and changes.
